Becoming a Photographer...

Taking still shots was not something unfamiliar. I always take pictures with friends and of events I volunteer at.  Taking photos for this class though I focused on what the picture I took would mean and represent to the viewer.  I tried to take abstract photos and ones that captured a mood of people (and my precious dog Noble).  I think that getting a picture worth 1,000 words will come in time.

This Multimedia Course

I'm excited to take this course to say the least.  I think this course should be a requirement for all journalism students because multimedia is engraved in our culture now and is an essential piece of the intake of news.  I have been on the lens side of the camera in the past; this course will take me to the view finder and put my eyes and mind through a new perspective.  I have worked on the school newspaper website taking and editing videos for the sports section.  My skills with this are very basic, but I bet that will change once I complete this course.  The only part I think at this point I'm nervous about is the video aspect because formatting and editing issues that I've had working on things in the past haunt me.
I know this class will make me a better journalist which is why I chose it.
